The Department of Education was created to address the critical problem of a shortage of qualified teachers and administrators, which is facing Tanzania. Quality Revitalization of Tanzania schools will depend on several essential factors, including improved teacher training, and provision for management training of school heads. The programmes offered by the Department of Education are designed to provide educators a solid foundation of knowledge in their area of specialization, and enhanced proficiency in computer use. The greatest strength of the programmes however, is the practical application of academic knowledge. Student teachers enrolled in these programmes will have opportunities to observe, model, and practice new approaches of learning/teaching throughout their course of study. The Department of Education prepares students to become effective teachers and administrators with the knowledge, skills, and appropriate attitudes needed to improve the quality of education in Tanzania.

  • Bachelor of Arts with Education
  • Bachelor of Education (Christian Education)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Administration)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Teaching)
  • Masters in Education
